"My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him. 6He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defence; I shall not be moved. 7In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God." Psalm 62:5-7. NKJV
There are times when we should just sit quietly and allow God's Word to drift through us and to just allow ourselves to soak in it. Today, is one of those days. Why not sit quietly and reflect on how things have been in your life just lately.
Think about the good things that have happened to you; the blessings you have received. and allow them to fill your heart with thanksgiving as you think about all of those things. God may have rescued you from danger and saved you. He'll often use someone else to do this - to save you from death or some kind of injury. You are blessed; the person who helped you is blessed and so is God.
Jesus is our rock. He wants to:
'Lead me to the towering rock of safety, 3for you are my safe refuge, a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me' Psalm 61:2-3 NLT. He wants to be our safe refuge; He wants us to realise that we can run to Him and find refuge whenever we need it. He will not allow any enemy to overcome us, and He will come down and rescue us whenever we need this.
We have nothing to fear because God is near. We have angels all around us to protect us and He will use other people to to help us too. There may be violence all around but, in the presence of God, there is hope, salvation and protection.
Reflect on this during this day and allow His Words to melt your heart. Use Psalm 63:6-8 as a personal prayer and just sit in His presence for as long as you can. You will feel the benefit: 'When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. 7Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. 8My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me.' If you don't know Jesus or, have fallen away, why not say this prayer right now
Lord Jesus, I have sinned. I ask you to forgive me and be my Lord and Saviour. Please come into my heart, fill me with Your Spirit and give me a brand new start today. In Jesus' Name. Amen
