Update

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  29Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle andlowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  30For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
                                                                                    Matthew 11:28-30  NKJV

There are times when we need to realise that we can’t do everything, no matter how hard we try. This became apparent to me just recently. For a few weeks I had been suffering with a cough and soon after, my chest began to feel rough. I ignored it for a short time, that is until I had a high temperature and the cough had increased. I did a Covid test but it was negative. I therefore put it down to a bout of flu and spent the next few days in bed.

By the weekend, it had become worse and we rang 111 who told us that she would ask a colleague to ring me within the hour. We were told to make our way to A&E where they were expecting me to arrive.

I was eventually seen and after a chest X-ray and being placed on oxygen, I was placed in a small ward on my own and further tests were taken. To cut a very long story short, I was told I had pneumonia and was placed on strong anti-biotics. My blood oxygen was of concern because it was about 85-90% and breathing was a little difficult. They wanted me to remain a constant 95% at least. However, this was not easy.

I’m not a great patient I admit and if I had been able to abseil. out of the window to the ground floor, I would have. I didn’t feel too bad really. The cough was a nuisance but I knew deep down that I had to listen to my body. So I rested and slept, took my medication and tried to focus on getting home. I must have asked the nursing staff a dozen times about going home. But I was told it was down to the doctor,

God spoke to me at this time and this was underpinned by my wife, I was to have a time of: REST, RECUPERATION, RE-ASSESSMENT AND RE-FOCUS.

I asked God about the blog; should I do it weekly etc.  But I had to wait for Him to answer. On the 19th June the answer came. I should pursue my dream rather than the outcome. We both took this to mean God wanted me to pursue my dream = spending time with Jesus, studying and listening to Him. I was to concentrate my focus on Jesus, my faith, my wife and family, retirement and simply enjoy what I have. As I have just reached the grand old age of 80, this feels right for me.

Therefore, I will not be writing a daily blog anymore but I will keep it set up so that I can post the odd teaching from time to time as directed by Jesus.

May I thank you all for reading my blog over some 10 years or so and for the support you have given both of us. I do have a Daily Life with Jesus for sale - a years commentary. You can find this on Amazon. The link is below.

May you be Blessed
