"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God." Philippians 4:6 NKJV
You have got this to do and then that, but in between, you need to visit Tom, Dick or Harry. Then there is the shopping, cleaning, blog to write etc.etc. The list is endless and absolutely exhausting, and it all leads to anxiety and pressure. David Bowie and Queen had the hit song Under Pressure and this is how you can be if you don'r change things.
The Greek word for anxious means 'to be pulled in different directions.' One direction leads to hope the other, fear. This can all form a stranglehold on us and worry sets in. This can affect our health, with pains, aches, cancers, headaches and heart problems so, this needs to be addressed in the first instance.
You know what you should do, God has told you so many times, 'casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.' 1 Peter 5:7 and then, 'Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you.' Psalm 55:22 and let's not forget, 'Commit your works to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established.' Proverbs 16:3. This last verse is a Hebrew picture of a camel fully loaded up in the hot desert. The word 'Commit' means to roll. Therefore, when it finally reaches its destination, it kneels and rolls over releasing the load from its back. Do you get the point? The camel rolls over to get the load off it's back, we do similar by, rolling over our load of worries and anxieties to God. We are saying, 'Lord, I can't handle these, please help.' and He does.
If we don't pray the problem won't go away. In situations like this, we don't have to get on our knees and utter lengthy prayers to God. A simple, 'HELP ME PLEASE' will suffice.
God will hear and because it is according to His will, He will help you through. There is absolutely no need to become anxious. What's the point? Your blood pressure shoots up, so does your BPM and your stress level rockets. Your smart watch, if you're wearing one, probably explodes with the impact. This way of living is definitely not recommended.
So, when the next period of potential stress comes your way - and it will believe me, you know what to do. Hand it all to God. This is not being irresponsible it is being sensible. If God says it, then do it!
Lord Jesus, I have sinned and I ask you to forgive me and be my Lord and Saviour. Please come into my heart, fill me with Your Spirit and give me a brand new start today.
In Jesus' Name. Amen
