What are you downcast - Here's a miracle

Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.   Psalm 42:5   NIV

Over the past few days, I had been feeling downcast because of the problems I was having with publishing this blog. I tried everything to put this right but to no avail. I began to wonder if God was showing me that I had done enough and it was time to move on, possibly writing Christian books, which I have done before. (You can view these on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/author/B00356R978/allbooks

After a couple of days with nothing from God and still no success with the blog, I began to question myself. Am I doing the right thing? Should I be writing books instead? Should I be doing something totally different. Then yesterday, God gave me a clear answer. I had been reading through a book when some words jumped off the page and spoke to me "Take care of My sheep - that's how to do it". It was clearly God, I showed it my wife Haze and she confirmed that it most defiantly was.

So loaded with this Word, I approached the Throne of Grace with confidence (Hebrews 4:16) and said to the Father. I accept your Word Lord but how can I carry on if I can't publish the blog. He reminded me of the latter part to what He had told me: 'That's how to do it'. I knew then that God had performed the impossible - finding the fault on the blog space. I checked it out and sent a small update. It published properly and I knew that I was back in business.  I now know that God is also a Computer whizz.

So, hear me on this, don't erase yourself from doing what you have been doing just, because things are going wrong. Stick with it and pray. Remember, when a problem is placed in His hands, His hands perform miracles.

I'll be with you tomorrow with a fresh word, Until then, God Bless

I will not give up!

"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."                             Galatians 6:9.  NKJV

For a couple of days now, I have had technical issues with publishing this daily blog. I have done what I always do - followed the rules to the letter. However, every time I tried to publish, it failed and disappeared, which was annoying. Yes, I had backed it up, but when I tried to repeat the exercise, the same happened. But I will not give up -  never!

I noticed the total amount of blogs that I had written and published and the last 3 numbers of the Total amount, was 666. That fits the bill. The devil doesn't like this blog going out and reaching so many people. Therefore, he is trying to block it. But, I belong to the King of all kings. His name is Jesus and He will beat the devil every time He tries to stop this going out.

Quite literally, this is my short message to you today - NEVER GIVE UP. This was Winston Churchill's message to his old school. As they sat there waiting for this great man to give an encouraging, lengthy speech, he got up and said 6 words 'NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, GIVE UP'

So, may I encourage you to put this into your thinking. No matter what, we will never give up. We've come too far to surrender now. We fight on until the battle is won.

Amen? Amen

Keep your mood healthy ..

"But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. 4I cried to the Lord with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill." Selah

                                                                          Psalm 3:3-4    NKJV

This Psalm shows us the changing moods of David. They changed rapidly from dark despair to confidence. Let's be honest, aren't we all like this at times? We may feel that there is no help for me from God, 'I'm on my own here.' Then, our mood can change again, very quickly as we remember past victories - the many times that God has rescued us.

In verse 3, we see a breakthrough. David prays, 'But You O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the one who lifts up my head.' The difference here is that David began speaking faith to Himself. Changing moods are often present but we have to rise above them; otherwise we sink. He recognised the danger around him but, he had been here before. This is the man who toppled the giant, Goliath. He may now have been older, but his faith was more stronger and through his past victories and experience, he knew God through and through. Therefore, what he said in verse 4 was a life-changer, 'I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill.' And then, the amazing confidence he had in God shone through, 'I lay down and slept; I awoke for the Lord sustained me' v5.

When our circumstances overwhelm us, we are called to look to the same God of peace. It is essential that we do this. It may be difficult; our pride may try to prevent us calling on God or asking someone to pray for us, but, it is paramount to our survival. In addition, we should always try to have confidence within our hearts by speaking faith. Often, when we have a sudden attack from the evil one, we panic and speak out negative words. Don't do this. Stay in contact with Jesus and you'll be less likely to do this.

It is far better to be able to lay down and have a sound sleep knowing that God is watching over you.

Tired of Waiting?

"Wait on the LordBe of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!"                                                           Psalm 27:14   NKJV

No one likes waiting, it's bad enough at slow-changing traffic lights but, when we are waiting for something important to happen, it is difficult. However, let us take encouragement from Jesus' behaviour and patience. He has been waiting to fulfil His destiny since that first act of sin in the garden, and He is still waiting. Yet, He is not like we are, getting all flustered and frustrated; He takes everything in His stride. There's a lesson to learn here.

When we are waiting for God to bring about an answer to our prayers, we know that He will answer when the time is right. Therefore, we have a hope - a hope in Jesus. When we are watching an eclipse, we are amazed by the way it blocks the sun out. But, as we look beyond the eclipse, we know that the sun will shine again. King David said it all in verse 13:
'I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.'  Psalm 27:14 NKJV

Notice how David emphasises the 'I would have lost heart,' He would have felt like giving up, rather like we feel like doing at times. However, His heart was fixed on His Father. He had a certainty within his heart. David knew that God wouldn't let Him down but, he also knew that He wouldn't be rushed either. He is always right on time, never late and never early, as RT Kendall often writes in his books.

We are to wait with expectancy not just belief. God is leading you into the impossible - the supernatural and this is where He wants you to be, always. If we wait for God with a bad attitude such as, 'Well I suppose He'll answer me sometime but I bet He'll leave things out which I asked Him for.' An attitude like this doesn't, deserve an answer.

Be encouraged and of good courage and He will then strengthen your heart and this will make the waiting time seem like no time at all. Don’t forget, our time clock is far different to God's: 'But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years, as one day.'  2 Peter 3:8

Apologies

SORRY I HAVE TECHNICAL PROBLEMS TODAY AND THERE WILL BE NO BLOG TODAY

SORRY FOR INCONVENIENCE. Grahame

In a little while

A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me, because I go to the Father.”                   John 16:16   NKJV

Jesus quite often spoke some of the strangest things possible. This was one of the occasion where He spoke to His disciples about His impending death at Calvary. His crucifixion was drawing near. In a little while the disciples would no longer see Him because He would be dead and buried. But in another little while they would see Him again, when He rose from the grave (16:16).

However, the disciples weren't getting it (16:17). They said quietly to one another, 'we don't know what He's talking about' (16:18). Jesus knew that were confused. One can never hide anything from Jesus, He knows your thoughts and your private conversations too. Don't be upset when you don't understand what Jesus is doing in your life. The disciples were there facing Him and were so confused. You are no different to them.

The first 'little while' referred to the hours before Jesus' crucifixion time, whereas, the second one referred to the coming of the Holy Spirit. So if Jesus were to tell you that in a little while He will be coming to take us to heaven, He may mean something else. There is a need to be switched on here. Don't forget that with the Lord, one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. 2 Peter 3:8.

When someone first comes to know Jesus, getting thier heads around the bible can be a daunting thing for them. This is why there are Foundation Courses, Alpha Courses and people acting as mentors to guide them along the way. But even when we have been a Christian for many years, we are still learning - we are still works in progress, and because the bible is alive, it is like it is forever changing because, one day we can look at a verse and take note of it. But then, the next time, it may give us another meaning. This is how we know that the Holy Spirit is at work.

One of the things I find fascinating about the bible is, God can give us a verse and as we study it, we can go even deeper and get lots just out of the verse. Try it some time. You'll be surprised at what you find; and don't forget your note book.

God bless, see you tomorrow
