There is hope in Jesus

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,  5who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,  7that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honour, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,  8whom having not seen, you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,  9receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls."  1 Peter 1:3-6   NKJV

No matter how we feel today, we have had a new birth into a living hope. This is all because of Jesus, who shed His blood on our behalf because there was no other way that we could enter heaven and enjoy eternal life. Notice, He is not only our hope but, our living hope. When we were first born, there was no hope for us, all we had at the end of our life, was death, no eternal life. But through His life, death and resurrection, we have a future. We will see heaven and abide there, because we accepted Jesus as our Lord.

You may not feel it at this moment but, you are free and have an inheritance in heaven which is locked away. Jesus has the key and, at the right time, He will unlock the treasures within just for us. For everything you have done for Him on this earth, you will be rewarded. You may not think that you have done much for Him, but he has noticed everything and even though, you may have let yourself down a little, that will not be mentioned because, it is under the blood that Jesus shed for you. 

It has been a time of struggle for you of late and, you have suffered quite a lot. However, this was because God was testing you to see how you cope and what you're made of: 'that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honour, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,  8whom having not seen you love'.  1 Peter 1:7.

Hey, did you notice that?. You have been tested; God has been checking to see how you are doing; and where you thought that you would never make it into heaven, that 'God will never forgive me now,' you were wrong. He has tested you and you passed!

Now, that is something to shout about. Your future is sealed and your reservation in heaven is booked. YOU ARE AN ETERNAL HOPE! Therefore, as Christmas approaches, look at the time of year as a total blessing of God's grace. Sing, dance, praise the Lord and make this time, a time of happiness and joy.

Lord Jesus, I have sinned. I ask you to forgive me and be my Lord and Saviour. Please come into my heart, fill me with Your Spirit and give me a brand new start today. In Jesus' Name. Amen
