“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.
2When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. 3For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Saviour"
Isaiah 43:1-3 NKJV
At times in our life, we are going to encounter major problems, a fiery storm and somehow, we are going to have to walk through it. How do we do this and still have the victory? There is only one way to achieve this, and that is to take Jesus' hand. He knows everything and is able to get you through this. However, sometimes, He wants you to do this yourself, relying on His strength.
Storms are not meant to destroy us but to test our faith and, as we set out in the power of God, this what we will be doing. This is not the time to sink in fear but to, anchor our faith deeper in His grace. Storms often serve to strengthen us and build our endurance. We need to remember that Jesus has authority over storms (Mark 4:35-41), so we have His knowledge to rely on. Three words stopped the wind and the storm, 'Peace be still'. And there was peace. 'Why are you so fearful?' How is it that you have no faith?' Now I'm not saying that you use these words when you walk through various trials and tribulations but, you do need the faith to be able to stand and address the situation.
Jesus will encourage us every step of the way as we walk on in His strength and power. He will give us a hope that the storm is only temporary and we are not fighting this alone. We will get through this.
Rodger’s & Hammerstein gave us a song that was later made into a major hit for Gerry and the Pacemakers a few years back. Just check out these words:
YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE
'When you walk through a storm Hold your head up high And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm There's a golden sky And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind Walk on through the rain For your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on With hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone Walk on, walk on With hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone You'll never walk alone' Songwriters: Oscar Hammerstein II / Richard Rodgers
So if you're facing a storm at this time, you know what to do. Talk to Jesus about it and whatever He tells you to do - do it (John 2:5).
If you don't know Jesus or, have fallen away, why not say this prayer right now
Lord Jesus, I have sinned. I ask you to forgive me and be my Lord and Saviour. Please come into my heart, fill me with Your Spirit and give me a brand new start today. In Jesus' Name. Amen
