"In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears." Psalm 18:6 NKJV
During our Christian life, we're going to have times of tribulation. Things will go wrong, people may turn against you and we may meet with situations where it is impossible to know how to handle them. David wrote this when he was undergoing threats from his enemies and Saul. He called out to God. Look at the account that followed:
'He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears. 7Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations of the hills also quaked and were shaken, Because He was angry. 8Smoke went up from His nostrils, And devouring fire from His mouth; Coals were kindled by it. 9He bowed the heavens also, and came down With darkness under His feet.'
Note verse 9, He was angry that His son (David) was being treated so badly, and He bowed the heavens and came down, with darkness under His feet. This is so encouraging to know that when we call to Him, He hears and acts accordingly. Sometimes, we don't have the time to call to Him, but He is watching over us. In this situation, either He or an angel came down to help and rescue David. Notice how darkness was under His feet. It will always be under His feet because, He is in control; has more power and has the anointing. There is no one like Jesus Christ.
There will be occasions when you and I need this to happen. There will always be times where things go wrong and we may feel boxed in by opposition. When this happens, just a call to your Heavenly Father will be all that is necessary to launch Jesus or an angel to deal with this. It is essential that we do this because, we can't manage things alone, You may solve the problem but, new problems may develop with complaints being made about your attitude and behaviour. It's far better to let God handle it.
Nine years ago, I was walking along a beach with my dog. It was Storm Brian and the high waves were crashing up on the shingle. I wanted to get a photograph of all this so, I put the lead under my foot to hold the dog there. I was wrong, he pulled the lead and ran straight into the water. I raced after him, he was only on the shore. As I reached for him, a mighty wave came over me and I was dragged out to sea. Every time the tide brought me to the shore, another wave took me out again. This happened several times. As the sea brought me to shore again, a lady's hand appeared and helped drag me up the steep shingle. I don't know where she came from but I was glad God used her to rescue me. My dog was ok but I had lost all of my camera gear but, I was alive, thank God that He was watching.
God will rescue you from the most diabolical circumstances. We are His family, and if we place Him central in our lives, He is committed to looking after us.
If you don't know Jesus or, have fallen away, why not say this prayer right now
Lord Jesus, I have sinned. I ask you to forgive me and be my Lord and Saviour. Please come into my heart, fill me with Your Spirit and give me a brand new start today. In Jesus' Name. Amen
